MongoToDB 3.0 Released: Collection Filter, Auto-Retry and Output Window Options

September 21, 2026 — Withdata Software announces MongoToDB 3.0, a cross-platform desktop tool that copies MongoDB collections and query results into relational databases. This release adds a collection filter, automatic retry on transient database errors, and new options for the output window.

What’s New in MongoToDB 3.0

1. Collection Filter

A filter box lets you narrow the list of MongoDB collections by name. On a MongoDB server with hundreds of collections, type a few characters and only the matching collections remain — much faster than scrolling to find the one you want to copy.

2. Automatic Retry on Transient Database Errors

Long copies can hit a momentary database error — a dropped connection, a briefly unavailable server, a busy lock. Instead of failing the whole job, MongoToDB now retries transient database errors automatically, so a copy that would previously have stopped halfway can finish on its own. Fatal errors are still reported as before.

3. Log Filter and Finish Notification

The output window gains a log filter, so you can narrow the log to just the entries you care about, and a “notify me when finished” switch for long jobs that run unattended.

4. Output Window Settings Persistence

The output window settings — including the new log filter and finish notification — are saved and restored the next time you open MongoToDB.

5. Smoother Progress Bar

The progress bar has been smoothed so it advances steadily during large copies, giving a more accurate sense of how much is left.
