BigTextFileViewer 3.1 Released: Go To Position & Pause/Resume Loading

September 12, 2026 — Withdata Software announces BigTextFileViewer 3.1, a cross-platform desktop tool for opening huge text files instantly. This release adds “Go To Position”, “Pause” / “Resume” while a file is loading, new toolbar buttons, and faster reading of large files.

What’s New in BigTextFileViewer 3.1

1. Go To Position

Version 3.0 let you jump to a line number. Version 3.1 goes further: Go To Position jumps to any point in a file, in three ways:

The character at the target position is highlighted, so you can see at a glance where you landed.

2. Pause / Resume While Loading

Loading a very large file no longer blocks you. You can pause the loading at any time, read what has already been loaded, and resume when you are ready. This is useful when you only need the beginning of a file, or when you want to check something before the whole file is scanned.

3. New Toolbar Buttons & Faster Reading

“Go To Line” and “Go To Position” are now one click away on the toolbar. Reading performance for big files has also been improved, so large files open and scroll more smoothly.
