DBCopier 3.0 Released: Preview Plan, Safer Writes & Faster Updates

September 14, 2026 — Withdata Software announces DBCopier 3.0, a cross-platform desktop tool for copying data between databases. This is the biggest update to DBCopier so far: a Preview Plan that shows exactly what will happen before anything is written, safer and faster update / upsert, and a long list of usability improvements for DBAs and developers.

What’s New in DBCopier 3.0

1. Preview Plan — See What Will Happen Before You Copy

Before anything is written, DBCopier 3.0 can show you the plan: the target table of every item, the field map risks, and the number of rows each item will move. Field map risks are also shown in the map dialog — NOT NULL columns, primary / unique key problems, and required columns that are not mapped. You fix problems before a run instead of after one.

2. Safer Writes on Busy Databases

A long copy no longer fails just because a database was busy for a moment. DBCopier now waits and retries on deadlock, lock timeout and lost connection, and a paused conversion is kept alive and reconnects when it resumes. Records that reported a write error are confirmed before they are called failed, and the bad record file is dropped when they all reached the table. A temporary connection problem is no longer reported as an error — only real data errors raise the error dialog.

3. Faster Update and Upsert

4. Better Control, Logging and Notifications

5. Field Mapping, Sessions and Other Improvements
