Dialect differences
SQLite is a database server and Semicolon-delimited is a file format, so the gap is wider than a dialect difference - the rows below are where values and structure stop lining up.
| Property | in SQLite | in Semicolon-delimited |
|---|---|---|
| port | (file-based) | — |
| identifiers | "double quotes" or [brackets] | Double quotes; a literal quote is doubled ("" ) |
| row limit | LIMIT n | — |
| dates | TEXT (no date type) | Dates often use D/M/Y or D.M.Y in European exports |
| long text | TEXT | — |
| binary | BLOB | Not supported |
| separator | — | Semicolon ";" |
| encoding | — | Often ANSI or Latin-1 in European exports; UTF-8 needs a BOM |
| typing | — | None - every field is text |
| shape | Tables of rows and columns | Flat table, optional header row |
| ceiling | — | No formal limit; row count bounded by memory |
