Go To Position<\/h3>\n<p>Version 3.0 let you jump to a line number. Version 3.1 goes further: <strong>Go To Position<\/strong> jumps to any point in a file, in three ways:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Byte offset<\/strong> \u2014 jump straight to a byte position, for example byte 1073741824.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Percent<\/strong> \u2014 jump to 50% of the file without knowing its exact size.<\/li>\n<li><strong>From the end of the file<\/strong> \u2014 measure backwards from the end, which is handy for reading the tail of a huge log.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The character at the target position is highlighted, so you can see at a glance where you landed.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.withdata.com\/images\/bigtextfileviewer\/bigtextfileviewer.png\" alt=\"BigTextFileViewer 3.1 \u2013 Go To Position and Pause \/ Resume\" width=\"1162\" height=\"732\" style=\"max-width:100%; height:auto; display:block;\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>2. This is useful when you only need the beginning of a file, or when you want to check something before the whole file is scanned.<\/p>\n<h3>3.
