TTSBatchConverter 2.2 Released: Command-Line Conversion & Pipelines

by

October 17, 2026 — Withdata Software announces TTSBatchConverter 2.2, a Windows batch text-to-speech converter that turns text files into MP3/WAV audio locally. This release adds a real command line (a convert verb and pipeline support), skips empty lines when converting, and fixes the SubFolder column in the CSV/TSV conversion mode.

What’s New in TTSBatchConverter 2.2

1. Command-Line Conversion (convert) and Pipelines

Until now the command line could only replay a saved task. Version 2.2 adds a real convert verb, so one command can turn a folder of text files into audio without opening the GUI:

TTSBatchConverter convert --from=D:\texts --to=D:\audio --voice="Microsoft David" --format=mp3

Add --filter=*.txt to pick files, --recursive to walk subfolders, and --rate=N to change the speech rate. The saved-task form still works (TTSBatchConverter task="a.tct"), and every run can write a log with logfile=run.log.

The same build also speaks pipeline: point it at a tasks.ini and it runs the steps in order as child processes, recording each exit code — handy when a conversion is one step in a larger scheduled job.

TTSBatchConverter pipeline --file=tasks.ini logfile=pipeline.log

2. Empty Lines Are Skipped

Blank lines in the source text no longer produce empty audio files. When a text file is converted line by line (or from a CSV/TSV column), empty lines are skipped, so the output folder contains only real audio.

3. Fixed: SubFolder Column in Convert by CSV / TSV

The CSV/TSV conversion mode can route each row’s output into its own subfolder. Version 2.2 fixes a bug where that SubFolder column was not applied, so rows now land in the folders named in the spreadsheet.
