JSON to YAML — What Changes

Each merged object becomes one YAML mapping. Nested objects arrive as dotted key names such as address.city, and arrays stay inline unless another layout is chosen.

Merging into YAML — Notes

How to Merge JSON Files (4 Steps)

  1. Open Withdata DataFileConverter and choose Merge (combine multiple files into one).
  2. Add the JSON files you want to merge — two files, a list, or a whole folder.
  3. Check the preview and map the source columns to the output columns; then set the output options (Indent (2 spaces by default), flow style, nested mappings).
  4. Click Convert — the single YAML file is written in seconds. Save the session if you want to run it again from the command line.

Merge multiple JSON files into one YAML file in GUI

In GUI mode the merge is a step-by-step wizard: add the files, check the preview, map the columns, choose the YAML output options, and click Convert. See Withdata DataFileConverter.

Set scheduled tasks for merging JSON

After merging JSON files in the command line, you can schedule and automate the merge:

  1. Save the session and create a .bat (Windows) or .sh (Linux/macOS) file for the merge.
  2. Set a scheduled task: on Linux/macOS use crontab; on Windows use the Task Scheduler.
