How to Merge shell (3 Steps)

  1. Choose your shell scripts. Select two or more .sh files in execution order.
  2. Merge. The scripts are joined with Unix LF line endings.
  3. Download the merged .sh file. Make it executable with chmod +x and run it.

What to Know About shell

  • LF line endings are used, which is what bash expects.
  • Keep only one shebang line, from the first script.
  • set -e in an early file makes the whole merged script exit on the first error.
  • The merge runs locally - no script is uploaded.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I have several shebang lines?

No. A shebang only works on the first line, so keep the one from the first script and remove the others.

The script exits too early - why?

An early script probably sets set -e or calls exit. Remove those lines from the parts before merging.

Is my script uploaded?

No, the merge is local.
